

PF officials confiscate assets of private firm over dues (Article on TOI) Senior officials of Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), Dehradun on Tuesday carried out a raid and seized movable assets of a private firm, which had failed to comply with the PF norms despite several notices of the department. A car and several machinery of the company were seized by the officials. The firm has an outstanding of Rs 22.47 lakh, which is pending for more than three years. In spite of repeated notices, the firm did not deposit the money. EPF commissioner Manoj Yadav said: "The firm did not deposit its PF contribution, and also that of its employees in the last three years." On Tuesday afternoon, a team of EPF officials raided the company's premises, he said. "Our team has attached a car and plant machinery. Now, the firm owner will not be able to do anything unless the PF dues are cleared, " said Yadav. Recently, the EPF Dehradun office had attached bank accounts of the Gurukul Kangri Pharmacy over pending PF dues to the tune of Rs one crore.
